Content and themes
- Clarifying intention: What type of workshop do you want to facilitate? What do you need to learn?
- Facilitator development: develop the right skills and knowledge.
- Facing challenges and fears: explore the workshop situations we fear.
- Celebrating! Telling stories of success.
- Facilitator maintenance: how do we keep ourselves fresh?
- Practice – during sessions and between sessions.
Weekend 1: Introduction (Southstoke)
Introduction to the general skills of facilitation, leadership and groupwork.
Mini experiential workshops to familiarise ourselves with different approaches to nature connection, group processes and personal reflection.
Afterwards you seek opportunities to create your first practice in what you have learned – e.g. taster sessions with friends or colleagues.
Weekend 2: Immersion (Hazel Hill)
Immersion into how to nourish our capacity to act for life on earth through the Work that Reconnects.
Learn skills to facilitate the four stages of the spiral of the Work That Reconnects – gratitude, connecting with our pain for the world, seeing with new eyes and preparing to go forth.
Practice what you have learned in the depths of a hazel wood far away from the hurly-burly of the modern world…
Afterwards, develop your second practice by working with colleagues or alone to provide a fun, transformative experience for a wider circle in your community.
Weekend 3: Progression (Southstoke)
Learning from our practice, designing events using ceremony and ritual to add power.
Co-design a celebration of our time together. Make plans for your future. End with a ceremony of intention and gifts of mutual support.
Afterwards, go out into the world and practice as a nature-connected facilitator!
